He served as an instructional aide, teacher, assistant principal, principal, director and assistant superintendent. Dan developed an movement disorder, forcing him to retire in the Spring of 2007. After retirement, Dan began to write a blog on the Internet to explain and discuss Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Plus syndromes, while sharing his personal experience. This blog, called \"PD Plus Me,\" led the writing of this book. Dan and his wife were married in 1981, and together they have three grown children and a daughter-in-law. Dan first noticed pronounced tremors, movement difficulties and balance problems in the summer of 2005. In addition to writing, Dan is a singer, guitarist and songwriter.
