She started with younger siblings, baby sitting for the neighbors, Bible School, and the church nursery. Then when she grew up and got married, she became a mommy, and a school teacher. She taught first grade for many years, teaching many little ones to read. She also taught the other primary grades as well as art K-3. When she retired, she became the full time caregiver of a newborn and three year old. (Grand children.) A couple of years later she became a mother's day out teacher, preschool teacher and day care director at a local church. What began with about sixteen little ones grew to almost 150 kids. Miss Marilyn, as she was known could often be found rocking little ones, reading, playing and talking with them. Her lifetime has been spent doing God's work with children in many different settings.
