Throughout his career he has kept one foot in the academy while solidly planting the other in the practice of policy and management. John earned his doctorate at the University of Southern California and is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. The Athenian Oath inspires his public work. John blends his professional responsibilities with an active religious and spiritual life. He is a life-long Presbyterian who remains actively engaged in his church. The Apostles Creed is the living foundation for his church life. He recently completed a three-year term on the Session where he served as the Stated Clerk.
