A recipe for the Pastiera is included in the book. The watercolor illustrations by Randy Gallegos are colorful, intimate, expressive, and of excellent artistic quality. The book was inspired by my five grandchildren and the creation of Pastiera for Easter dinner. Papa Sam was named after my grandfather Sam and my late brother, Sheldon, who was quite interested in myths. I hve had a few things published and produced two CD's with lyrics that I composed. HMy five grandchildren were the inspiration to put the story in book form with wonderful illustrations. I hve not been able to find any evidence of a previous retelling of the myth in any children's literature. The myth was found while researching a recipe for Pastiera, a sweet Easter pie. I made the pie and read the myth to the children.
