Various articles have been updated and previously unpublished articles added. The book is of interest to researchers, genealogy buffs and descendants of immigrants from Luxembourg to the United States. A great complement to Nicholas Gonner's 'Luxemburger in der Neuen Welt' (Dubuque, Iowa 1889). Fausto's new book 'Luxembourg On My Mind', evokes his Internet site 'Luxembourg On My Mind' (1995-2005) and follows his publications 'St. Donatus, Iowa. A Luxembourg Village' (2007) and e-book 'Storms Over Luxembourg' (2009). It is dedicated to Maryann Lulling Hughes, the untiring business manager and editor of the 'Luxembourg News of America' since 1984. I wasn't there, so I missed him. I grew up and was educated in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. I worked for Luxair, Luxembourg's airline. In the mid-seventies I caught the computer bug (incurable virus). I moved to Paris, worked for SITA, an international telecommunications company, as a marketing manager for the computer services division. Later I transferred to Atlanta, Georgia, USA, arriving there on February 29, 1984 on Eastern (defunct) airline. I traveled to ninety-eight countries. Monday in Atlanta, Wednesday in Rio, Saturday in Madrid. It sounds glamorous, but it isn't. I once flew around the world in 96 hours, spending 65 hours on flights and in airports and the rest in Singapore, but I came away with a multi-million dollar (US) contract; I was mighty proud of myself. In 2001, we said: enough with the glamorous life! Let's move to ... an island (with a causeway to the mainland ... since we don't own a boat.) We moved to St. Simons Island, GA. Six years later, we said: enough with island life! Let's move to a city! So we moved to Jacksonville, Florida. By the way, in 2007 I published a book entitled 'St. Donatus, Iowa. A Luxembourg Village' (Don't bother looking for it, it's sold out). That village was settled by immigrants from Luxembourg. In 2009 I published an e-book 'Storms Over Luxembourg' recounting World War I events that engulfed the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (See: www.luxembourgensia.com). I regularly accompany visiting groups from Luxembourg to Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, retracing the path of early immigrants. I lecture about the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as other subjects, at events and venues, including at the University of North Florida (UNF). The present book is a compilation of articles published since 1995 in such publications as the 'Luxembourg News of America' (Skokie, IL) and the 'Luxembourg American Gazette' (Belgium, WI). I know, it isn't 'The New York Times', so what? and other media. What else is there to say? For one, I speak English, French, German, Italian and .. Lëtzebuergesch, the official language of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Secondly my wife, Marcia, and I have been adopted by Olivia and Bailey of the feline species, who allow us to share their living quarters, as long as we feed them and clean up after them.
