It is a numbers-based approach similar to what Charles Gorem created in the early 1900's for the game of bridge. It outlines a system for giving a value to the cards held by a player. This provides specific guidance direction in playing any given hand. This guidance is modified as the hand develops.

Before developing this approach Walt had witnessed how often players over-valued their hand which often resulted in hugh losses or even all their chips. He felt a more systematic approach could be very useful and created what is described in this book. After he first created this technick he tested it in a number of tournaments and then made some refinements. It is a numbers-based system that is relatively simple and thereby easy to master.

The book not only provides a systematic approach but also covers many of the other facets of playing this game such as bluffing, trapping, mucking and the all-in bet. It also includes special valuations like the value of position, pocket pairs and connected cards. In some cases the approach to a given hand needs to change such as stack size of the player as well as other players. And, there are differences in playing in live tournaments versus on-line. There also are some practice exercises.

Author: Walt Hazelton
Publisher: Walt Hazelton Publishing
Published: 02/08/2024
Pages: 162
Binding Type: Paperback
Weight: 0.50lbs
Size: 9.00h x 6.00w x 0.44d
ISBN: 9781963379914

About the Author
Hazelton, Walt: - Walt Hazelton is a retired financial manager from Xerox Corporation which he worked at from 1964 to 1994. He then was hired by Gunn Partners which is a prestigious consulting firm and worked for them until 2015. During those years in published several articles in a national magazine . He also authored a book entitled "Dear Folks" which relates his father's experience in the Great War. Walt graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 with a degree in Mechanic Engineering after which he was an officer in the US Navy for three years. He then went back to Penn to earn an MBA degree at the Wharton School. Card games have been a passion for Walt since he was a teenager. Bridge was an early favorite, but poker soon took priority. When Texas Hold'Em became popular in the late 19th century Walt quickly adopted it and started playing on-line as well as in local tournaments. After a number of years he noticed how many mistakes many players were making by over-estimating the value of their cards. He decided that the game could use a systematic approach and he applied the same method that Charles Gorem developed for the game of bridge to Texas Hold'em which he then tested in live games over the next few years. After seeing how well it worked for himself he wrote this book. Walt lives with his wife, Lynn, in Fairport, New York. They have 3 very successful children and 7 grandchildren. Woodworking has been one of Walt's hobbies especially in making different kinds of furniture. He has also participated in several sports included golf and volleyball. His seniors volleyball team played in a number of tournaments around the country.

This title is not returnable

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0555/9255/0515/files/img_df93b12a-bba3-4751-86f1-1b8dd96aa247.jpg?v=1758282266
https://bookstorenmore.com/products/texas-holdem-made-easy-a-systematic-process-for-steady-winnings-at-no-limit-holdem-9781963379914
