In the month of September 1615 three whale-hunting vessels from Gipuzkoa were shipwrecked in Iceland, right about the time when they were preparing for their return journey. 83 crewmembers survived the storm, but between thirty two and forty were killed in the following days. J n Gu mundsson wrote an unbiased report on those events, and as a result he was declared an outlaw in his own country. This edition is produced on the occasion of the 400 anniversary of those tragic events.
