The book is divided into two distinct sections. In the first section the author gives the reader his rationale for the title A Desperate God based on an overlooked character trait of God. Section one also gives us grounds for why we need to pray, why some of our prayers don't get answered, and challenges the Christian to examine what they really believe about prayer by looking at their actions. In section two, the author shares his own prayer life over a lifetime. This section turns into an autobiography of answered prayer. His style is honest, transparent, and he uses humor to describe his prayer life and God's answers. The book lays out an incredible list of answered prayers that goes far beyond coincidence. In the final analysis the book is designed to encourage the reader to pray and believe God will answer prayers.

About the Author
Clay Mize roots run deep in the southern soil. He can trace his ancestry back to the American colonist, and native Cherokees creating a family with no sense of being immigrants. They fought in the Revolution, on both sides of the Civil War, and in World Wars I and II. The closest his family comes to fame is through baseball. Ty Cobb and Johnny Mize are distant cousins who both played for the New York Yankees and are both in the MLB Hall of Fame. Clay's mother and grandfather taught him the importance of learning to love work. Growing up on the family farm, by age ten he already understood the meaning of a long row to hoe. In the early years, in addition to the family farm and football, he worked as a furniture assembler, lifeguard, paper boy, waiter, cookie salesman, and oil field roustabout. In the middle years he was an owner and CEO of an insurance brokerage firm, University teacher, and talk show host. In his latest phase he manages real estate investments and a Bed and Breakfast, and is an author, speaker and coach. If you wish to contact him, you can email him at Claiborne.mize@gmail.com or call him at 256-436-9990.
