The Writers' Rooms creates genre-specific writing spaces called Rooms that are led by Concierges, literary members of our community. They not only lead sessions, they bring their wealth of knowledge to the table through lessons, group discussion, prompts, and free-writing time. They are the backbone of our team who devote countless hours to The Writers' Rooms and to the community. At the same time, they craft their own amazing works.

This book is dedicated to them and is a compilation of their writings.

Each year, alongside the community anthology, The Writers' Rooms will put out another anthology specifically for Concierges of the Rooms. A New Adventure features genre work from the Scarlet Boudoir (romance), the Violet Realm (science fiction/fantasy), the Parchment Lounge and Cedar Room (all genre), the Rainbow Room (LGBT+), and the Golden Attic (poetry) Our Rooms are forever growing and introducing new genres each year.

The Writers' Rooms is a non-profit corporation, which means we rely on the amazing and generous donations of the community to keep us afloat and to help us print these books. Every dollar helps. If you would like to consider a monthly donation, patrons of our Patreon page are listed on our site as a special thank-you

About the Author
Penland, Alex: - Alexandra Penn was a museum kid. The daughter of a photographer and a Scuba diver, she spent her teenage years in the field: Penn has worked with Smithsonian archaeologists, NASA software engineers, volcanologists, and photographers. She also managed to fail Algebra II with a passing grade, which she's a little proud of. Her work is both a love letter to and an intense criticism of the academic world. She has been bitten by a shark, she watched the final shuttle launch from the fire escape outside Launch Control, and she has been a certified diver since age twelve. She likes dogs, long walks on the beach, and socialized medicine. Also books. Penn is one of two Directors of The Writers' Rooms (you may know her from the cover as Alex Penland), an editor for hire, an amateur linguist, and a Taurus. Her work has received many accolades, including an Honorable Mention in the Writer's Digest Annual Contest 2017. You can buy her serial, The Letter Mage, on Amazon-and be sure to leave a review! She spends all her free time on Twitter. Follow her @AlexPenname.Casey, Erin: - Erin graduated from Cornell College in 2009 with degrees in English and Secondary Education. She decided to expand upon her teaching knowledge by leading writing sessions at first for the Iowa Writers' House and now for The Writers' Rooms. She attended the Denver Publishing Institute in 2009 and has been a recruiter ever since. She is the Communications and Student Relationships Manager at The Iowa Writers' House. She also writes children's poetry and stories for Whimsical Whiskers and volunteers at RARE, a raptor rescue center. She's also a devoted bird mom. When not volunteering and working, she's writing her LGBT YA fantasy story, as well as a mix of medieval fantasy and urban fantasy books. She's looking to submit her first book for publication in 2018. Currently, she is publishing her first urban fantasy novella on Patreon called The Purple Door District. You can follow her on Twitter, like her Facebook page, and check out her blog here. To read her novella, and other fantasy stories, visit her at Patreon.
