Sissy Carpey, an award-winning writer, has published articles in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post, and Hadassah Magazine. In 2007, she received an award for the first chapter of this book at the Philadelphia Writers Conference. Sissy and her husband, Al, who live outside of Philadelphia, have three children and seven grandchildren.
