About the Author
Shelton, S. Martin: - Captain Sylvester M. Shelton is retired from active and reserve U.S. Navy service. He served in Korea, French Indochina, Vietnam, and other areas in the Western Pacific. He has an extensive background in Far East studies. During his career, Shelton published extensively in trade magazines, peer-reviewed journals, and commercial publications. His professional book, Communicating Ideas with Film, Video, and Multimedia, garnered the Best of Show award in the Society for Technical Communication's Spotlight Publication Competition. Since retirement, he has published several historical, action-adventure novels whose mise en scène is the Far East and Africa. The narratives are focused on little known yet critically important events in the early twentieth century, and are consistent with the theatre of the times. His novellas and short stories comprise a mélange of tales of aviators, assassins, and adventurers. His monographs encompass studies on topics such as photographic optics, Ho Chi Minh and the OSS, and Amelia Earhart. Details of his literary work are posted on his website: sheltoncomm.com
