Soon, the doctor is pursued through the city by a band of zealous Zulus intent on recapturing the bead and beheading the doctor in the process. Homeland Security Agents, Patrick Dartson and Adnan Fazeph hatch a scheme to rescue the doctor and his girlfriend and get to the bottom of the Zulu's fascination with the ancient talisman. This is the first book in the series of four that follows the beads through time and around the globe. Though the tale is fiction, the beads are not, and enough fact is woven into the story to make the reader wonder.

About the Author
Dr. Parsons lives and works in Brentwood Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Raised in a military family, he's traveled extensively and lived all over the world. An avid lifelong reader and book collector, he began writing in earnest after attending a fiction writing course offered by his alma mater, Dartmouth College, in 2003. An orthopedic surgeon, guitar player, hunter and shooting enthusiast, and a decent golfer, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his characters and stories. He has based Baden-Powell's Beads on the true story of Zulu beads recovered in the Boer War and, using historically accurate events and religious history, has woven a four book tale of mystery and intrigue that both entertains and educates and leaves the reader wondering...what if?
