I have toyed with the idea of writing a book for years. At 75, I decided to see if I had anything to say. My life has been interesting and full of fun. Why not share a bit with my friends and loved ones? My relationship with my Dad was special. We were fishing buddies which generally aggravated my Mother. We often slipped off after school to fish in local farm ponds. This little habit got us in trouble more than once. Growing up in a small town gave me an interesting view of life. Maybe, I missed a few things; however, I gained far more than I lost. My story follows me from childhood through the golden years. It is a love story about two only children who made marriage work. It is about the successes and failures of raising children. It is about how children react to poverty and find their way out to a better life. The book explores how adoption is a rewarding process for both parents and their children. Our children have made our life wonderful in so many ways. One of the underlying themes of the book is friendship. My parents were blessed with many loyal friends, as my husband and I are. We traveled with these friends, laughed with them, and cried with them. My book documents many of these moments. Remember Art Linkletter's, "Kid's say the Darndest's Things." Our kid's certainly did. Teaching school for thirty-eight years provided me with some great stories. Hopefully, you will enjoy these.
