Conrad irons is a civil war veteran and a "man on the run". He is a long-shot and a gun slick with more kills than he can count, or remember. He comes to New Paris Arkansas to pursue a new life, and to leave his blood sustained past behind. But, as the gun slinger remarks, "I don't look for trouble, trouble look for me." Iron finds himself in a ferocious struggle with a greedy mine owner, Matthew O'Shaughnessy, who is seeking to gobble up New Paris and everything in it. The entrepreneur has an army of corrupt private detectives and they will stop at nothing to help O'Shaughnessy attain his ends. Conrad finds himself once again in a ferocious struggle with a small army of private lawmen. The "man on the run" is compelled to confront his adversaries in order to survive. In the process, comes to terms with his own personal ghosts.

About the Author
Hirschhorn, Andrew: - Andrew Hirschhorn is a lawyer and an old west enthusiast. He has worked in talk radio, in addition to his legal practice. For Andrew, the western novel represents an opportunity to present spiritual and universal themes that transcend the old west, the 19th century, and time itself, while embracing legal as well as social justice. When he is not practicing law, or writing, he finds respite in his western vest collection, and touring historical old west sights around the country.
