He was raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and he studied creative writing and literature at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He currently teaches composition and writing courses at Colorado Mesa University and at Quincy College in Massachusetts. John is also the author of The Lost Words, a collection of short stories and prose.
