Editorial Review: by Janet Thomas, movie/ TV documentary producer, writer/journalist Leo Buijs' "Children Around the World", a collection of photos and identifying captions, will bring you 40 pages of warm smiles as you feel the wonderful energy of young children around the world engaging in their every day activities. Mr. Buijis obviously has a knack of catching heart-warming images of children, whether it is shoeshine boys in Quito, Ecuador or young gauchos near San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Each picture will make you feel like you've taken a mini trip around the world, without having to leave your living room. Mr. Buijs' gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling about the joy and wonder of being a child no matter where he or she lives and no matter the circumstances. This book would be a great gift for a young or not-so-young photographer or for anyone who just wants a "feel good" experience. 10% of the sales from the book will go to UNICEF Canada -- how appropriate Janet Thomas, movie/ TV documentary producer, writer/journalist

About the Author Born in the Netherlands, Leo Buijs immigrated to Canada in 1978, with his wife and two boys. He used to live in Victoria and moved to Courtenay B.C., where he lives now with his wife and his Dutch Sheepdog Femke. He has been writing for different journals since he retired in 2001, and has had several winning photographs in a variety of contests. His extensive traveling resulted in this collection of fine photographs put together in a handsome coffee-table book. In 2003 he wrote '50 Best Dog Walks around Victoria' which sold out quickly. After his move up-island in 2006, the first print of 'Best Dog Walks on Vancouver Island' appeared and was followed by a second and third print. In 2010 he published the very popular 'BEERS of British Columbia' book. A smaller version of 'Children around the World' was published in 2015 and is now followed up with this larger coffee-table book in 2016.
