About the Author
It was her first trip to the Tuscan wine region that inspired Heidi to begin writing about her life-long passion for food, wine and travel. Appreciating wine and food - not as a commodity, but as a way of life - was something that Heidi wanted others to experience too. This inspiration soon became a goal for Heidi to establish Wineopolis; a community of wine lovers, where everyone can take part in learning about wine and sharing their experiences to help enrich each other. Since 2006, Heidi has been writing wine-related articles with a focus on learning about wine and making it easy to understand. Heidi is the author of the Wineopolis(R) Wine-travel Guidebook series and founder of Wineopolis Press applying her business expertise towards launching and growing new ventures devoted to wine lovers including wineopolis.com. Heidi has also written and developed the Certified Wine Expert(R) Training Program in partnership with the Bartenders Association Internationale and currently serves as the Association's Program Director. As a wine aficionado, Heidi has studied food and wine with local experts throughout Italy and France as well as the Culinary Institute of America in the heart of Napa Valley. Heidi's journey continues to build upon her travels to wine regions across the globe, gathering first-hand knowledge about regional wine and food and how they influence life, culture and history.
