The evolution of the Body is well-understood, but the Mind remains a mystery. The recent discovery that two separate sets of RNA genes, ancestral male and female lines of life experience, inform the hemispheres of the brain has opened the door to Co∙GENESIS. 250 million nerve fibers uniquely interconnect the hemispheres of the brain: maleness (left) and femaleness (right). Experienced as deliberative consciousness, our silent inner voices range from anger and revenge at one extreme, to love and forgiveness at the other. When did these two voices begin to deliberate, and how did that event make Humankind the ruler of the Earth?

Co∙GENESIS also explains our evolution to an advantageous array of mindsets, our social order. For instance, presidential elections provide a view into millions of minds, but the most revealing clue is the "landslide." In 1964 liberal Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater 61.1% to 38.5%. The second landslide of the modern era occurred in 1972 when conservative Richard Nixon defeated George McGovern 60.7% to 37.5%. How can these be landslides? Why is there never a 90/10, 80/20 or even 70/30 victory? The answer is an underlying social order, a pattern of mindsets that repeat in following generations, maintaining a resilient Humankind. Oppositional mindsets account for 80% of the vote: 40% conservative (low empathy/trust) see a world of threats, and 40% liberal (high empathy/trust) see a world of possibility. One segment has evolved to compete in war and the other to compete in peace. These voters are unpersuadable, consistently a 40/40 draw. The remaining 20% are independents, able to see both worlds, therefore: 40% + 20% = 60% the maximum: landslide. Such variation of mindsets, not normalcy, is the key to a resilient species in the face of war, natural catastrophe, or peace, all of which can occur within a single lifetime. Co∙GENESIS and the RNA MIND impart a random expression of perception/behavior in each individual, and yet achieve a stable social order of mindsets across the population. Much as a game of five-card draw poker, each hand dealt (individual) is random, but statistically there will always be a stable ratio of pairs, flushes, straights, and full houses (social order) overtime. The unique interconnection and emphasis between the hemispheres forms individual personality, and the underlying RNA binary code is the foundation of the dynamic functions of all complex life forms:

  1. Homeostasis: The balancing ( ) of bodily functions, e.g., heartbeat, oxygen levels, and thermal balance, to maintain biological set points.
  2. Variation and Social Order: Imparting unique individual perception/behavior while maintaining a balanced social order of mindsets across the population results in a resilient species.
  3. Deliberative Consciousness: Real-time access (only by Humans), to the two streams of ancestral male and female wisdom: the maleness/femaleness ratio.
However, our one-dimensional current understanding of life (DNA primacy) is threatening a tragic, if unintentional, end to the binary masterwork of deliberative consciousness, and with it, Humankind. Co-GENESIS, utilizes eighty illustrations and a minimum of technical language to put forth an argument in opposition (RNA primacy), supported by the leading edge of research (2015-2023) in the natural sciences.

About the Author
Croxton, Randolph R.: - Randolph R. Croxton, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), was accorded this honor in recognition of his advancement of Architecture as an integration of built and natural (biological) systems. Recipient of the AIA National Honor Award, the profession's highest award for Design Excellence, Mr. Croxton is twice the recipient of the National Leadership Award of the U.S. Green Building Council for having established the principles of Green/Sustainable Architecture in America. In 1994 Mr. Croxton co-authored Audubon House, on his firm's work and sustainability design methods for the Audubon Headquarters in New York City, and, in the same year, authored the first two federal (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Innovation Grants for Green Building Guidelines. In 2015, Mr. Croxton authored A Convergence of Two Minds: Origins of Self-awareness and Identity. Mr. Croxton taught for seventeen years (1995 to 2012) in the Harvard Graduate School of Design's Executive Education Program: A Symposium on Architecture and Sustainability.
