Confessions of a Mad Scientist
Confessions of a Mad Scientist
In this story of his incarceration at Police Precinct 33, our hero, Dr. Alexander Malcolm, shares with his little group of, we'll say, 'captive' jailers, a story much bigger, and of the up-most importance. It's about climate change, and the climate is changing- but things are not exactly what they seem. There is a warming, but there is much more to it than what is said by official sources and mainstream media.
This volume is both a novel and also an informational resource on climate. In a step-by-step account, and based on actual research by climatologists, within this story of Malcolm's Greenland and Antarctic adventures, is to be found a real and direct challenge to the people-caused carbon dioxide story of global warming; a practical and verifiable alternative view of climate change.
There looms on the horizon an event much greater than the warming. The weakening of Atlantic Ocean circulation- the AMOC- and the Jet Streams; the great increased flooding and, at the same time, drying of the continents- the wildfires; the global acceleration of the hydrological cycle; and now the appearance of the Atlantic 'Cold Blob'; all signs of a coming change. A change, not to a warmer, but to a colder world. It is the great long-term cycles of change in the direction and angle of the Earth's axis and the shape of its orbit; and the resulting long-term changes in the distribution of the Sun's warmth and light on its surface- that move the planet back and forth between glacial and inter-glacial conditions. And which today favor a return to its usual glacial state.
What will be the event that will bring an end to the period of relatively warm 'Holocene' climate that has persisted for the last ten to fifteen thousand years, and in which human civilization has grown up and thrived? What monster will usher in such a new age of ice? Is it the 'Cold Blob' that now stands in the way of the warm tropical water coming into the North Atlantic? Or will it be some future cold blob? Or will it be something else? Nobody knows for sure. It is suspected that the thing that finally brought an end to the next most recent 'Eemian' interglacial warm period, was a large explosive volcanic eruption. We should expect when it finally comes, it will not be with the gentleness of the lamb, but rather more like the roar of the lion! There is much to do if we are to be prepared. A list of suggested readings is provided for reference and further study.
It has been said that only half of what is printed is worth reading, and only ten percent of that is true. The challenge for each and every one of us resides in finding that small amount of truth, from which a real and true value can be derived.
