He is a graduate of the City College of New York and St. John's University School of Law (Magna Cum Laude). After his military service in Verdun, France and Vicenza, Italy as a 1st Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps, he returned to the Bronx. He then enrolled in the Harvard Law School and received a Master of Law Degree. Upon graduation, Mr. Borrillo moved to Denver, Colorado. After serving a few years as an Assistant Professor at the University of Denver School of Law, Mr. Borrillo became a member of the Office of the Denver District Attorney, where he served in the capacity of Chief Deputy. He and his late wife, Elfriede, raised their four children - Christopher, Angela, Thomas and Matthew - in Denver. Mr. Borrillo has had an abiding interest in writing. His lengthy book, Colorado Criminal Practice and Procedure, was published by West Publishing Company. He has also written numerous articles for legal and non-legal publications as well as four books of poetry. He is frequently a speaker at various venues. Mr. Borrillo has been retired from the practice of law for several years and resides in the small community of Bow Mar, Colorado, on the outskirts of Denver. His children live their separate lives in different areas of the country except that Angela works and resides in The Netherlands in Amsterdam. The children are all a cell phone call away. They have been and are blessings to him as they were to their mother.
