About the Author
Martina Lunardelli was born in Pordenone, Friuli Venezia Giulia region (Italy), on July 7th, 1984. When, on her last year of high school, there is the chance to go to a 20-day school exchange to Sacramento, California, she accepts immediately. This first long-distance journey allows her to understand how much studying foreign languages means to her, and to meet her second family, which will turn out to be a long-term friendship relation over time and space. After high school she starts her University Career, in Ca'Foscari University, Venice. She studies Translation and Interpreting for 5 years, when she graduates. After her graduation she starts her way to the work environment as an employee in various companies. In 2010, she becomes a freelance translator and interpreter. She teaches, apart from "regular" classes, also to maximum security prisoners, and this experience helps her resizing the problems she faces in life. Moreover, she finds herself involved in a friend's company and she travels for work to "hot" countries like Libya, Algeria, Iraq. She falls in love with Iraq, and she is inspired and touched by amazing natural landscapes but most of all by human lives. In 2012 she also starts contributing to the CNN iReport family, writing small articles answering CNN assignments. She has always been fond of Nature and of Poetry. Nevertheless, she never shows her poems to anyone. The urge to write down her feel-ings and what she perceives when in different situations or locations is too strong, and she continues to scribble down her poems in her old notebook. This writing continues up to date. In 2011 she decides to let others read her work for the very first time. The feedback she receives are encouraging. She finds out that the most important thing in her life is writing. This is when she sees that she loves writing in English. After the first vanity publisher experience, she decides (under the supervision of a good friend and great writer Guido Mattioni) to go independent and publish her first poetry book entirely in English. Martina is an extremely active young lady, she writes a blog and she loves fashion.
