About the Author
Bela Banerjee has been writing for years. It all began with a single book on the art of cooking in the Bengali style from her native India. Everyone loved the book so much, with its simple approach to the otherwise challenging and complicated way of Indian cooking, that she was soon asked to teach Indian Cuisine at a local school. She was later asked to teach on television through her local library station. Soon, newspapers wanted her recipes as Indian cooking starting to be the new rage back in the late 80's early 90's. This meant more cookbooks, so Bela wrote them, each one offering a different slant on Indian cooking. Her writing path took a turn when a colleague had a prophetic dream in which she was told to tell Bela to write a book about other peoples miracles. Bela took on the task and the rest is history. Today, Bela is working on giving new life to her early cookbooks, now out of print, to be released in 2015 and to co-authoring a fictional novel (her first) about post partition India, to be released also in 2015. These days Bela still loves to be inspired by her flower and vegetable gardens. And, of course, her family and friends.
