About the Author
Capt. Tom Blackburn was born and raised near the Chesapeake Bay where he fished it and its tributaries for Rockfish (Striped Bass) all the while learning and devising many useful and productive fishing techniques and methods. His youthful days on the Chesapeake Bay served as a great platform for plenty of on-the-water-training. He has fished the Great Lakes for Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye as well as fishing Delaware Bay for Sea trout every chance he could. Every summer Tom and his father launched out of Indian River Inlet and trolled for Albacore Tuna. He refined his trolling methods and skills while fishing out of Chincoteague for both Blue and Yellow Fin Tuna. Like Tom, Capt. Chuck Kizina has been an avid fisherman since his childhood, starting out by fishing for bluegill in a farm pond with his cousins. He has actively fished waters from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico as well as fishing waters in the Arctic, Atlantic, Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Both authors presently reside in Georgia, fishing Lake Lanier primarily for Striped Bass. Based on their similar experiences gained by fishing many of the same waters over the years, they became friends and decided to write this book after observing that many productive fishing techniques that they are familiar with are not commonly known or used on Lake Lanier.
