About the Author
Dr. Friedman, is a fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy who employs a multidisciplinary approach to Pain Management and Integrative Wellness Medicine. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987, did a rotating internship at Michiana Community Hospital in South Bend, IN. and a combined residency in Osteopathic Manipulation and Family Medicine at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1988-1990. He received his board certification from ABSPOMM in 1991. Dr Friedman teaches internationally and has helped to establish Osteopathic programs in Germany for the DGOM and the DAOM. He is co-founder of San Fransisco International Manual Medicine Society (SFIMMS) and has written numerous books on Osteopathic techniques including Functional Methods, with William L Johnston and David C. Eland, and a set of 4 instructional manuals (SFIMMS series in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine) on Counterstrain, Myofascial and Primary Respiratory Mechanism approaches in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Friedman lives in Santa Cruz California and enjoys painting and Jazz music.
