Eleanor is a member of the Alumnae Association of the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing and the Writers' Guild of Alberta. She lives in Calgary with her husband of sixty-three years, Dick, and their willful but loveable cat, Lucy. They have three children and four grandchildren.
