About the Author
James Edward Alexander, a native of Valdosta, Georgia, entered the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He first served as a medical corpsman and surgical technician but was later trained as a journalist and broadcaster and served with the Armed Forces Radio & Television Service. He finished his military career as a senior instructor in broadcasting at the prestigious Defense Information School. Following his retirement in 1971, he held management and sales positions in commercial broadcasting. At age 52 he felt the urge to finally achieve a very special personal goal, and he returned to the classroom at the Whittier Law School where he prepared to pass the California Bar Examination on the initial attempt at age 56. He succeeded. From 1991 to 2003 James Edward was a partner in the law firm of Adams and Alexander with offices in Pasadena and Beverly Hills. He is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, United States Circuit Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit), United States District Court (Central District of California), and the State Bar of California. Today he lives in semi-retirement with his wife, Toian Bowser-Alexander, in Bluffton, SC.
