About the Author
Howard Smith divides his time between Langley, Washington and Forest Grove, Oregon where he is Dean and Professor of the College of Business at Pacific University. In addition to many academic and professional journal articles, he has published six books on prospective payment, staff development, hospital competition, financial management, strategic nursing management, and reinventing medical practice. He also published Taking Back the Tower: Simple Solutions for Saving Higher Education with Greenwood Press/Praeger Publishers in 2009. In the Footsteps of the Anasazi is fourth book on nature literature. Previous contributions to this genre include: In the Company of Wild Bears: A Celebration of Backcountry Grizzlies and Black Bears (The Lyons Press, 2006), Mountain Harmonies: Walking the Western Wilderness (UNM Press, 2004) and The Last Best Adventure (CreateSpace, 2011). His latest publication, Successful Fundraising AHA! Tips, is currently in press under the Business AHA! Tips series at CCI Press of the Centre for Creativity and Innovation at Boise State University.
