In 1958 a sleepy industrial village on the Fox River is rocked to the core by a series of events that are horrific and unexplainable. Nothing like this has ever happened before. The villagers are at a loss; their hamlet is turned into one large investigation. It seems a longtime resident; one of their own has gone missing, but not before leaving a mess behind. Family ties are tight, or at least they should be. Sometimes family ties can cause people to do strange things; and sometimes families don't interact like society suggests they should. Three 12 year old explorers aren't willing to sit back and wait for fate to solve the mysteries. This is their village; they know it intimately and apply their exploring skills to find who is at the center of the events. They solicit help from an old man that is known as the town drunk and a young police officer to find one of their friends that is a part of mystery. Unfortunately, their explorations take them to places they never intended to go, revealing things they never wanted to learn. Growing up is hard, but this made it even harder.

About the Author
Born in Montgomery, Illinois, Dick served in the military then entered the business world which included various levels of management. For the past 18 years he and his wife, Chris, have run successful businesses in Colorado. His interest in writing goes back to the 1970's, but was limited to editorials, commentaries and articles of a business nature. He was inspired by Alex Lizzi, Jr., a close friend and author, to venture into the fabulous arena of fiction. Though he still invests the majority of his time tending to business, he makes time to exercise his skills at creating a good story.
