About the Author
During the course of more than four decades in practice as a clinical psychologist, life coach, and divorce mediator, I have helped many individuals, couples and groups maximize their potential and achieve their goals. As a psychologist I have provided individual psychotherapy, relationship counseling, and sex therapy to many individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions, sexual dysfunction, eating disorders, existential concerns, chronic illness, and other debilitating emotional and psychological concerns. In my life coaching practice, I consult with individuals who desire to move their personal lives, businesses, careers, or professions to a higher level. Much as an executive coach helps executives take more control over their lives in the context of a corporation, life coaching helps people achieve higher level of function in all areas of their life. I have assisted many people in achieving balance in their lives enabling them to more fully participate in the world around them. Life coaching begins where psychotherapy leaves off. I believe that one significant factor contributing to the high divorce rate is the difficulty people have in choosing an appropriate mate to begin with. People often make decisions to marry based on antiquated models and with less forethought and planning than they would do in choosing an appropriate home or car. In my book, Someone Right For You, I focused on offering single people a practical down to earth plan for finding an appropriate mate. My most recent book, Keeping Your Sanity, is a compilation of essays designed to give people an opportunity to explore themselves as they come to terms with the various trials and tribulations of everyday life. These are the concerns faced by a large number of people, who are trying to gain understanding of their own behavior. I hope the essays also serve to help to demystify the process of psychotherapy.
