Kiss the Candy Days Hello

My head started spinning. I got up and dragged myself to the bathroom. The scale was out where I had left it and I got on. Two more pounds were gone. I turned toward the toilet and went for a real long time and then drank from the faucet avoiding my face in the mirror. The water felt good in my mouth---but not in my stomach. I was pretty sure I knew what was happening ... my father had put a curse on me by writing a book on diabetes.

About the Author
V.T. Dacquino is the author of several books for young children, including Kiss the Candy Days Good-Bye, a Dell/Yearling paperback. He is the founder of the Peanut Butter and Jelly Writing Academy and has made numerous appearances at schools and historical sites based on his biographies, Sybil Ludington: The Call to Arms, and, Sybil Ludington: Discovering the Life of a Revolutionary War Hero published by Purple Mountain Press. Dacquino has also released a book with History Press called, Hauntings of the Hudson River Valley: An Investigative Journey, for Halloween 2007. He has been a teacher in Westchester County for over 30 years . He retired from teaching in 2007 to dedicate more time to his writing and lecturing. He resides with his wife, June, in Mahopac, NY.
