On August 3, 2006, thirteen US Soldiers were sent to the worst village in the Korangal Valley. Abandoned by the Afghan National Army soldiers supporting them, the small force was ambushed by a numerically superior Taliban force. Almost out of ammunition and water, the survivors were ordered to continue their mission.
