About the Author
Houston residents Eric and Elaine Johnson and their five daughters were the recipients of a new house as part of ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition Show. Now, the couple is working to extend their good fortune by strengthening their community through a variety of initiatives, including an anti-obesity youth program that helps the environment, and marriage seminars and relationship counseling. The Johnsons believe that strong communities are built upon strong families, which is why they are committed to addressing the issues that are destroying many marriages today. In their book, Manage Your Marriage, Master the Workplace, they provide insight into many points of conflict experienced among couples, including communication issues, finances, children and intimacy. They will also address these and other topics through marriage seminars and relationship counseling sessions. Eric & Elaine Johnson are, both, Certified Faith-Based Counselors specializing in marriage and family relationships. They are a husband and wife ministry team who work side by side in their vision of building and restoring marriages. Although, their ministry of counsel began while mentoring young girls and boys in public schools and local churches, they soon found themselves acting as mediators in parenting sessions with many of the students parents. The Johnson's noticed many families simply didn't know how to relate to each other in a healthy manner. So, Eric and Elaine are responding to the mandate from God to be effective in ministry by giving individuals the tools to have successful, healthy relationships.
