About the Author
Dr. Sabrina Morgen is the clinic director of Physicians Wellness Care, Inc., and has been in private practice since 1998. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1997. Having performed thousands of MUA's in various outpatient ambulatory surgery centers in Palm Beach, Broward, and Indian River County, Dr. Morgen has helped many patients alleviate pain and suffering while improving their quality of life. Dr. Morgen is a chiropractic physician who received her MUA certification in 2006, and is certified as a neuropathy doctor as well as a dual Fellow in acupuncture and integrative cancer therapy. Initially, she experienced trepidation toward the MUA procedure, understanding that some DCs may wonder why anesthesia is necessary to perform an adjustment. After further research and speaking to the patients prior to and post MUA, she learned that she could do more to help them. Some patients are unable to "hold" their adjustments and others have had too much damage to their musculoskeletal structure so by placing them under twilight sedation, this allows them to receive the benefits of joint mobilization without resistance.
