Families today are made up of many different people. Immediate and extended family often live under one roof and in turn share the responsibility of raising the children in the house. Mommy's House, Daddy's House is the story of five-year-old Zack and his experience of living between two houses of separated parents. As Zack soon realizes, there are many kids around him who share his living situation and that it does not always have to be a negative experience. Through the close involvement of his parent's extended families, Zack sees how lucky he is to have not one but two families who love and care for him, and it is not so bad living between two houses.

Laura Kaufman, a special education teacher with a Master's degree in Education focusing in Reading Specialty, has spent the last six years devoting her energy to her sixth grade students at a middle school in Eastern Pennsylvania.
