About the Author

Vivian French worked in the theatre for many years before becoming a full time writer of children's books. She has written over forty books for children, as well as short stories of which three appear in Collins anthologies - The Wall in Centuries of Stories; Selim Hassan the Seventh in Mirrors and The Mighty One's Daughter in Kids' Night In. Vivian has recently moved from Bristol to Edinburgh. She is well-known to schools, libraries and all the major children's literary festivals where she 'performs' her work as well as leading writing workshops.
