About the Author
Dr. Joseph R. Rogers, Sr. is a native of Middlesex, North Carolina. His is the tenth of fourteen children born to Mrs. Pearlie Rogers and the late Willie Rogers, Jr. He is married to the former Lola Mae Vick of Spring Hope, North Carolina. To this union two children were born: Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. of Tampa, FL and Nicholas Lamont of Greensboro, NC Dr. Rogers earned a Diploma in Basic Drafting & Mechanical Drafting from the LaSalle Extension University, Chicago. IL. He earned a Diploma in Special Data Processing from the Raleigh School of Data Processing, Raleigh, North Carolina. He worked as a Senior Draftsmen for Westinghouse Meter Division, Raleigh, NC for twenty years. Dr. Rogers is presently serving his second (four year) term as Moderator of The Johnston District Missionary Baptist Association, Inc. and General Board member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc. Dr. Rogers is co-founder/dean/instructor of the Raleigh Baptist Bible Institute, Inc. which offers a Diploma in Biblical Studies. Dr. Rogers is a graduate of the American Christian College & Seminary at Bethany, Oklahoma earning: A Bachelor of Arts, A Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and A Doctor of The Ministry Degree in Christian Education. Dr. Rogers has earned his second doctoral degree in Christian Counseling, from Patriot Bible University, Alamosa, CO. Dr. Rogers has served two other pastorates: Southern Grove Baptist Church (5 years), Kenly, North Carolina and Johnston Piney Grove Baptist Church (11 years), Clayton, North Carolina. Dr. Rogers is presently serving as pastor of The Greater Philadelphia Baptist Church Inc., Raleigh, North Carolina where he is Founding Pastor. Dr. Rogers is also Founder and Executive Director of J & L Outreach Ministers a non-profit corporation designed to assist the community in all areas of people development. In 2003 this corporation has been granted its tax exempt status 501 c 3 from the Internal Revenue Services.
