Driving home from work on a stormy night in May, contractor Mitch Cones witnesses a passing car plunge into the flooding waters of a Missouri river. His hasty decision to attempt a rescue draws him into an unfamiliar world of misconception, fear and ultimately, pure survival. As a rapidly escalating series of consequences resulting from his good deed unfold, he tries to make sound decisions based on incomplete and sometimes faulty information.
