About the Author
I am Englishman with US citizenship, so that probably makes me an Anglo-American. I have an ancient PhD in Computer Science and have worked for most of my life in selling or marketing information technology. The triathlon bug has bitten me, so most days you can find me somewhere in the south bay area of California, running along roads and up trails, swimming across a murky lake or chlorine-filled pool, and pedaling against the breeze. I wrote my first novel at the age of seven for my Uncle Joe, and have now written five more, which are longer than the first one but only a little more sophisticated. I have lived in London, Madrid and Edinburgh before settling in California and have traveled widely and unwisely. The stories in No man is an island are almost personal essays, but I have used writer's privilege to make them more interesting. Oh, Turning 50 is not autobiographical, but perhaps I wish it were.
