Poetic Justice

POETIC JUSTICE is the story of a hired killer who loves poetry in the changing American West of the last days of the 19th Century. The first part of the novel is the story of Petit Jean, born in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma from a French mother and Irish father recently discharged from the army. After tragedy strikes his family in a dusty Saloon, Petit Jean is sent back east to live with his Uncle George who runs a Bordello on the corrupt Manhattan waterfront. During his time there he meets the poet Walt Whitman. The second half of the story concerns Petit Jean's metamorphism into John Little, a highly paid assassin who reads Whitman while preparing to ruthlessly kill his adversaries while seeking the solace of cold revenge. Written by acclaimed international singer/songwriter Elliott Murphy, POETIC JUSTICE is the story of an American Hamlet of the old West.

About the Author
Living in Paris for over 20 years as an expatriate New Yorker, veteran rocker and author Elliott Murphy continues to have a very active career in music and literature. He has released over 30 albums, performs 100 shows a year and is a prolific author of fiction. Nearly four decades have passed since the release of Elliott's ground-breaking first album AQUASHOW (1973) (recently called an "Album Classic" by the prestigious UK magazine UNCUT). Born to a show business family in New York, Elliott began his career by a troubadour like odyssey in Europe including a bit part in Federico Fellini's film "Roma." Murphy is also a published author of numerous collections of short stories, the most recently being CAFÉ NOTES and two novels COLD AND ELECTRIC and the neo-western POETIC JUSTICE. His fiction has appeared in Rolling Stone (U.S.) and other publications.
