Politics at the national level often overshadows the importance of what goes on locally. Often, we are more concerned about the decisions made by Congress and the Supreme Court than the decisions made by City Councils that affect us more directly.
Politics and People is a compelling memoir about the power of getting involved in local politics. Lucente encourages individuals to take action in their cities by voicing their concerns, electing responsible officials, and even running for office themselves. No matter age, gender, or political party, everyone is needed to take part in their city's government.
