About the Author
Joe Cooley has a burning desire to teach other believers about divine guidance. In his forty years of seeking God, he has received divine direction to make many important decisions. They include decisions about colleges, majors, spouse, jobs, houses, babies, autos, investments, mission trips, and more. The Spirit of the Lord taught him a simple and effective technique for finding God's will for his personal life. He now shares this strategy in his new book: Pray One Way-Then-Pray the Opposite Way. Joe has many documented examples of divine guidance. On one occasion, he accurately predicted two future events concerning the stock market before an audience at his church in Versailles, Kentucky. His speech was recorded, and the predicted events were fulfilled with surprising accuracy. In 1990 while fasting and praying for the nation of Israel during Yom Kippur, the Spirit of the Lord prompted him to invest into a crashing, Japanese stock market. The next day, the Nikkei surged 2,676.55 points or 13.2 percent-the biggest one-day gain ever up to that point. In 2008 during Yom Kippur, the Holy Spirit inspired him to invest again. This time it was in the crashing U.S. market. The next trading day, the Dow surged 936 points -the biggest one-day gain ever. Joe gives God all the glory. "I was just obedient to the Holy Spirit's directions." Joe grew up in the rugged mountains of eastern Kentucky where he excelled in basketball. He accepted an athletic scholarship from Clemson University in South Carolina, where he majored in microbiology. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. During a relaxing weekend from training, he read The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsay and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Following his graduation from artillery school, he entered the pharmacy program at the Medical University of South Carolina. After completing the first semester, he received orders from heaven to pursue a career in education. Joe acquired his teacher's certification and later earned a master's degree and Rank I in counseling from Eastern Kentucky University. In the late seventies, Joe taught science at Betsy Layne High School. God then called him to central Kentucky and opened a door to teach chemistry at Anderson County High School, where he taught for twenty-seven years. He began his writing career after his retirement in 2008. Joe lives with his wife, Linda, in Versailles, Kentucky.
