About the Author
Oma Boyd refers to herself as a story catcher or a vessel to preserve her mountain way of life. She is an active member of Winston-Salem Writers and the Mount Airy Writers Associations. Stories from this collection: "A Sign" and "The Mountain-Man Right" have appeared in slightly different forms in No Straight Roads literary magazine, Danbury, North Carolina. Her story, "Granny Lettie" was published by Appalachian Heritage magazine, Berea College, Berea Kentucky. Some of these stories were published by Latitude magazine, Winston-Salem, NC. "The Christmas Doll" along with a profile on Oma, was a special feature, in a December edition of Yadkin Valley Living magazine. Oma has shared these stories with numerous groups, including National Public Radio.
