I've spent twenty two years as an energy efficiency professional now, with a prior background in construction building homes and commercial buildings. By far though, the most rewarding career has been energy efficiency and making homes both more comfortable and more affordable to heat and cool. When I began in 1991, we would close up every home as tight as possible, with no thought given to ventilation. For nearly a decade now though, "Get it tight, and ventilate right" is the mantra. Whether by leaving natural ventilation (not such a great idea) or by sealing the home super tight and adding mechanical ventilation, the goal is a healthy interior air quality.
