About the Author
Mark "Lefty" Holencik born on August 10, 1955 grew up in the Allentown area of Pennsylvania. He always marched to the beat of a different drummer. Quitting school at the age of 16 was the climax of a trouble childhood. At the age of 17 he moved in with his wife Betsy. Betsy was 15. They have 2 boys, Jesse and Adam. 40 years later they are still married. For the first 36 years of his life, he struggled with many demons. 21 years ago, Lefty's life bottomed out and he recovered from alcoholism. Since then, Lefty has reinvented himself, with the help of strong mentorship, in the most successfully positive direction. He went from being a struggling self-employed roofer, to running a successful roofing company. This has expanded into 3 companies which employees mostly people who are looking to get a new start in life. Lefty credits his father with teaching him many basic principles. His father always told him," Do what you love to do and you will never have to work a day in your life. If you are not doing what you love to do you are hurting 2 people. First, you are hurting yourself because you have a job because of what it pays. Secondly, you are also hurting someone else because they can not live their dream because you have their dream job. Do what you love the money will follow." More importantly he is a mentor to others, showing them the way out of their seemingly hopeless circumstances. Helping others discover and achieve their dreams has been a driving force in his life for the last 21 years. He recently started a blog titled the "7 Day Mental Diet", adopted from author Emmett Fox. And this is just one of the many tools Lefty uses to encourage others to follow their dreams. Lefty still marches to the beat of a different drummer and the world is a better place to live.
