Spirits of Wood Quay is a teen-age odyssey set in the Old City of Dublin in the year 2008. When Dennis O'Shea and Paul Hughes attempt to con old Michael Harrington out of a great treasure that is buried beneath his crumbling house on the banks of the River Liffey, they set off a train of events that catapults them into a terrifying world of Viking ships, warriors, slaves, and Gaelic chieftains. Not only do Dennis and Paul confront a past filled with plunder, war, and heroic feats, but they are forced to discover some disturbing truths about their own world of the present. Spirits of Wood Quay is a fast-paced thriller full of charm and wit. It weaves a powerful spell of magic and mystery that should appeal to the Harry Potter generation.
