About the Author
Mateo WarSteiner is from Lexington, Kentucky. In 2008, his senior year at the University of Kentucky, he studied abroad in Valencia, España. There he fell in love with the country, culture and study abroad. Upon his return, he decided to begin chronicling the tales of his adventures abroad, based on the journal he kept while in Spain. It became quite evident from early on that this would be a useful guide to students that wished to study abroad and wanted to get a general idea of what to expect. In the summer of 2009, he moved to Harlem in New York City, where most of this book was written. After completing an internship at a music studio in Manhattan, he returned home to finish the book. After teaching English in Chile in 2011, he began working for a study abroad provider in Austin, TX in 2012. As a site specialist for Chile, Peru and Panama, he got to share his experience with students first hand. In 2013, he transferred back down to Chile to work with students onsite. Throughout these experience, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge for future study abroad candidates. Beyond the world of writing, Mateo enjoys music, travel and staying active. Future plans involve further travels and explorations of our little world. He also plans to write more books and make more beautiful music. Oh, and he is still buscando el duende . . .
