About the Author
As a team, Robert and William McCauley possess over a century of poker experience. Robert McCauley is the team's technical expert, and he also possesses the deepest experience as a poker player. He has a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington, and has worked as a mathematician, software engineer, and manager in space programs in Seattle and in Southern California. He has been a successful entrepreneur in Europe and in Seattle. Throughout his life he has been an avid poker player, with particular interest in Texas Hold'em, which he has played almost exclusively for the last fifteen years-in cardrooms, casinos, and online. His deep understanding of the subtleties of Hold'em derives from his systematic approach to playing the game, which would not have been possible without of his extensive investigations of the mathematics of the game. William McCauley is the team's writer/editor. He has two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Washington, in Oceanography and in Writing. He has made his living for the last twenty years as a writer of technical nonfiction as well as fiction. His stories have appeared in many periodicals and in two collections, and he has published two novels (another will be published in 11). His nonfiction includes technical works on computer science, computer technology, investment, poker, as well as articles for trade publications.
