At the dawn of the twentieth century, as human knowledge and progress were lauded and many predicted the demise of Christianity, Christian leaders and thinkers spoke up fervently for the Christian faith. While acknowledging the achievements of modernity, these astute Christ-followers eloquently affirmed Christian revelation as the guarantor of human value. In this volume of the Book of Saints series are the counsel and reflections of many of the modern era's most profound witnesses to Christ.
