The author, Dr. David F. Spigelman, earned MA and PhD degrees from Stanford University. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinction in economics. He has had a varied career including stints as an economist at the Federal Reserve, as an investment banker and trader on Wall Street, as an economic and educational consultant, and as a lecturer in economics and finance at the University of Miami. Dr. Spigelman believes that his experience both inside and outside of the academic environment has given him more insight into the needed skills and attributes to be successful after college is over.
