Roosevelt Wright Jr. graduated from the University of Louisiana and has spent more than four decades as a journalist. He has studied and written extensively about African- American life and culture in the Louisiana/Mississippi Delta and is the publisher of The Monroe Free Press, a newspaper in Monroe, Louisiana.
